The Illustrious Municipality of Coquimbo, through the Municipal Planning Secretariat, is designing an ambitious artistic intervention for the urban space of the Penuelas underpass, located in a strategic point of the commune, as part of the process revitalization and improvement of the public environment with high vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The intervention includes a large-format work of 1,800 m2, distributed between side walls including slope, interior pillars and front facades of the passage. Given its scale and complexity, it has been defined an execution plan in two execution stages, one to be developed during the year 2025 and the other in the year 2026: ● Stage 1: North lateral wall, including 470m2 slope. ● Stage 2: South side wall, including slope, central pillars and front facades 1350m2. The project will be put out to tender publicly in stages, calling on visual artists, artistic collectives, cultural organizations and companies in the creative field that have experience in large-scale public art and mixed techniques. This tender is for the development of the First Stage of the project, which It includes the mural-type intervention of the northern side wall, including the slope, of the Penuelas underpass with Route 5 North.
